July 2014 Playlist
Artist and albums on
replay.
The 1975; are a band from Manchester from England who have taken the world by storm since September 2013. Their self-titled
debut album is something I can’t go a day without listening too, well at least three songs a day! Whatever I'm feeling there is always a song for the mood, they have slow sets mid tones and upbeat music which
is all I really need! There hasn’t been a day since I found their ep and then
album when I have not listened to them. The 1975 are hard to define and set in a genre. they are a mix of indie, pop, rock, electro and singer songwriter all smashed into one. They are a band I never grow tired of
and I don’t think I will for a long time.
Lily Allen- Sheezus.
I have loved Lily Allen from the very start and I am so glad
she is back. Sheezus is a well thought out and well written album that tackles
the ongoings in the music industry, media and celebrity culture in present day, as well as her own personal life. There
isn’t one song I do not like on this album I have so much respect and adoration
for Lilly Allen and I always will, because she is a smart and strong woman who
is not afraid to speak her mind. Every time she is knocked down she gets up
again and comes back stronger. Her voice is something I’ll never grow tired
off, I fell more in love with the album after watching her track by track, see link below.
Callum Burrows aka Saint
Raymond. Is a British singer songwriter from Nottingham; England and I
cannot get enough of him. Saint Raymond is definitely my favourite singer of
the moment. He does not have an album released yet but I am in love with his
voice and music already. I was so happy when I found out he will be supporting
Ed Sheeran in October and I will get to see him live!
Sam smith; Sam
Smiths voice is perfection. His debut album In the lonely hour has been
overplayed a ridiculous amount this month especially in the lead up to Longitude 2014. I
will definitely be going to see the talented singer when and if he comes to
Ireland on a solo tour as he is phenomenal live!

Warning there will probably always be an Amy Winehouse song in my
throwback section, because I will always love her music.
Lana del ray; Young and beautiful.
I couldn’t imagine not listening to this song, especially in
July!
Oasis; Wonderwall.
I have fallen back in love with the oasis album; what’s the
story morning glory. Basically because there was only one copy of it
in work and when I went to put it on I realised it had been sold and I was
craving a listen to wonderwall and champagne supernova and spent the journey
home losing my thoughts so the music of oasis.
