Five Friday Favourites; Longitude, lifestyle and music

                                                                     T.G.I.F.

Aloha and happy Friday! My day is bittersweet as I’m spending the day with my little sister before she goes away for two weeks on Sunday. My week has been a toss-up of work and chilling I have been exhausted all week and I’m not really sure why!

Fave day; Longitude 2014.

Hoping back in time to Saturday the 18th of July; Longitude 2014 in Marlay Park was my summer highlight so far! This year I went with Tara my sister Emma and her friend Sinead. Tara came to mine to meet up and we then jumped on the bus at Santry to avoid the crowds the closer to town. I wore an electric blue slip dress, a floral kimono and had a leopard print rain jacket. My outfit was full of the colours and full of prints which is what any festival outfit should be. I also realised I wore no black, myself and Tara were so proud as black is constant in almost every outfit I wear! For my makeup I opted for a brown Smokey eye and a nude lip, keeping it classy and wearable. If I wore a vibrant lip it definitely would have smudged leaving me looking like a hot mess! The festival itself was amazing, we watched Hozier, Sam smith, the 1975 chrvches, and Haim. My favourite acts were Sam Smith and the 1975 by far. Every act that hit the main stage were amazing but Sam Smith and the 1975 stole the stage for me! I couldn’t get over how good Sam Smith was live, he sounded even better than he does on CD if that is possible. His stage presence was so humble and overwhelming, it was clear that he was so happy to be there and it was so adorable. I’m so glad I was there for his first Irish appearance it’s something I know I’ll never forget. The 1975 had not slept after playing a gig in Spain and still managed to preform extremely well. Like the 1975 concert in February Matty took the stage with a bottle of red wine in hand and charmed his way through the set. The crowd went wild for the Manchester boys, screaming increasingly louder when Matty took to the mike and said “Dublin we’re glad to be back, I love it here!” The crowd took every song well but screamed and sung louder for girls, chocolate and settle down. I personally loved M.O.N.E.Y. and Heart out. Heart out was played featuring their friend from home playing the saxophone live adding that lovely jazz element to the set. I wished they’d stayed for longer when it ended! We didn’t spend much time in the surrounding stages probably because all of the talent was on the main stage. To my surprise I didn’t spend that much money which I was delighted about! I adore festivals and concerts I hope I keep my gig streak running throughout the year!

A new Yankee candle makes my week, this is the most calming fresh scent, and I love it so much.
