Summer 2014 favouroites; Beauty, Skincare and Fashion

                                                 Summer favourites; 2014 edition.

I cannot believe summer has come to an end! Summer 2014 flew more than any year previous, part of me thinks it is because the majority of my friends and myself included have part time jobs keeping us busy during the weeks. So there was not a lot of what “will we do today” or “it’s so boring here there’s nothing to do”. Instead there was a lot of “I can’t, I’m in work” and my personal favourite “I can’t stay out late, I’m in work tomorrow”. All of these comments are light-hearted because it is great that we all have jobs because they are SO hard to find at the moment. However, even though I may have missed a few nights out I have still seen my friends just in more sober and chilled settings. Without the night out money I have also been able to make myself feel better by ticking off my summer wish list! So here are the beauty, skincare and fashion items I have been loving through May, June, July and August 2014!

Hair care; Charles Worthington hair mask.

 Skincare; Neutrogena 2in 1.

La Roche Posay; Toleriane.

The above products have been talked about a lot in the past few weeks here on callmeclaz so I won’t bore you all with repetition, but surely it shows how much I adore these products! It wouldn’t be a honest favourites without them.

Makeup; Mac; MAC paint pot in quite natural

This is my favourite eye product of the moment. I had been lusting after this paint pot for so long and it was number one on my summer wish list, so I finally caved and bought it at the start of summer and it has been a staple in my Smokey eye shadow and any eye shadow look ever since. It is the perfect colour for my eyes complimenting the colour in every way possible. The warm brown makes them look exceptionally blue, I adore it.

Nars; Copacabana.

This was also on my wish list and craving that summer glow I caved and bought this too! Nars Copacabana makes my makeup luminous and I always get a compliment when I wear it under my foundation. The liquid highlighter radiates the skin and gives a gorgeous natural glow.

Bourjois; lip velvet pink ping.

After watching a weekly vlog of vivanna does makup sporting this shade I rushed out the next day and picked it up. Pink is my favourite colour I adore almost every shade of it but for something bold I love a florescent pink lip, it is so girly and fresh on a majority of skin tones you just can’t go wrong! This lip stain is exceptionally long lasting and easy to apply. it is a must if you have not tried at least one colour from this rouge edition velvet line.

Soap and glory; solar powder.

I adore this bronzer it is the perfect bronzer for paler tone skins and doesn’t leave that dirty orange bronzer colour! I have hit pan with mine so I will need to pick up another soon!

Urban Decay; Naked eye shadow original pallet buck

This is my most worn eye shadow from all of my naked pallets, it is a gorgeous warm brown that can be worn in so many different ways. I have hit the pan on this colour so the next time I am near a urban decay stand I will defiantly be picking this up.

Rimmel; Scandalise(eyes) eye pencil, Kate moss bronze shade.

This is the easiest eye pencil to use as a wash of colour over your lids if you are in a hurry, they are so easy to blend and very long lasting. I picked up two other colours in my most recent trip to boots yesterday and I can’t wait to try them out!

Fashion; Clothing.

Kimono and shift dress combo; from various shops.

I have been a lover of kimonos for years now, I love that you can dress them up dress them down. They add a chic and boho element to any look which I am seriously loving this season. However, they blew up this summer and everyone including people who said they didn’t understand the kimono trend and or didn’t like kimonos are now wearing them! Which always happens people are so hypocritical when it comes to fashion, yet they always hop on the band wagon in the end! I have a variety of kimonos and shift dresses but my favourites are the two featured in the picture above. This kimono is so gorgeous with the intricate patterns and perfect combination of black and white seen throughout the piece. I adore swing dresses because they are so flattering, so comfy and extremely easy to pair without almost anything. My favourite is a swing dress teamed with a kimono for that extra girly boho look.

Shoes; Nike free runs.

I had been lusting after some nice runners for a while and never been able to justify paying the price for the ones I liked the most. However, I bit the bullet in June when I was breaking some new boots in, while I was in work.. Very bad idea! I lasted around four hours into a nine hour shift before I caved and hobbled up to champion sports to buy a pair of runners. I haven’t regret them since, I am so in love with them they are so comfy and go with everything. I wear them all the time!

Black converse.

I can never go a summer without wearing converse, they have been a shoe staple in my collection for so many years, and they go without absolutely everything.

Accessorises;

Perfume; DKNY summer limited edition 2014.

My lovely mam bought me this perfume as a little treat when she was on her way home from London and I love it so much. The scent is subtle and sweet which is perfect for summer! DKNY perfumes don’t seem to stay around on my skin for long but I still love it and will continue to wear it, thank you mam!

Nails; Dior. Nuit 970

This is my perfect nail colour. Even though it is a vampy autumn winter shade I still wore it to death this summer, it is my favourite nail varnish of all time. I was on the hunt for this colour for years and my gorgeous cousin picked it up for me at the start of summer, a week hasn’t gone by when I haven’t worn this!

Bag; River island bag.

It has been my staple bag since Tara bought it for me as a Christmas present and it seen me through summer too! You can never go wrong with a black tote they are a must!

Candle; Yankee candle in black coconut.

The fresh scents from Yankee candle are my ultimate favourite ones, I find they have a stronger scent then the rest. This is a gorgeous musky scent but sweet at the same time. The candle smells the whole room up and is lovely and calming.

So they were my skincare beauty and fashion favourites from summer 2014!

What have you been loving this summer?

Au revoir for now,

C xo

Updated Pamper routine; Skincare, haircare, body care and lifestyle.

                                                                    Pamper me please.

Aloha and happy Friday to you! Today there is no Friday favourites as my week has been a blur and all I have been loving is sleep! Instead there is a section all about spending a little time with yourself and why not? We all deserve a pamper session whenever we feel like it. I am a firm believer in taking quality time to look after yourself, whether that be on a good day or a bad day. However, if you are having the worst day where everything that could have gone wrong has or you are just feeling in the mood to spoil yourself these following steps will be your salvation. A pamper session can calm you down and take your mind off whatever is getting you down and make you feel so much better, trust me! This post is pretty much how I will be spending my Friday night and I don’t really mind since I’m not feeling amazing and my weekend plans have been pushed on the back burner. Oh well, leaves more time for some TLC.

Pre shower.

Before I start any pampering I change into comfy clothes, light a candle, and plug my ipod into my speakers at a loud enough level to drown the outside world and start to relax. If you are interested in what I’m currently listening to scroll down to my last post which was a monthly playlist. When that’s done I move on to the fun part, beauty and skincare!

The face;

This is my number one crucial step. I never sleep in my makeup or wash it off in the shower because water doesn’t remove all of the skincare and makeup you have had on your face for the day! Think of the dirt from the air, and things like public transport and air conditioning you have been struggling through all day combined with your added touch up of makeup, ik! Trust me my friends, remove the dirt and grime first thing and you will start to feel a little bit better already!

After all of my makeup is removed and my face is sparkly clean I then move onto a facemask. My two current masks are the Origins out of trouble mask and my new favourite Neutrogena 2 in 1 visibly clear facemask/face wash. If I’m being honest I think I prefer the Neutrogena one because I have seen more of an effect from it. I leave that on the skin for 10-15 minutes and remove it in the shower with a damp facecloth.

Shower; Body scrub of choice.

Mine is the sanctuary body scrub which I use with exfoliating gloves. I have used exfoliating gloves for years they are amazing for making your skin look and feel polished when teamed with a good body scrub. I adore sanctuary as their scrubs are still firm but not too harsh and are easy to use in tube form and easy to remove, leaving a lovely after scent.

Shampoo and conditioner.

Garnier ultimate blends range. I am loving this new range from Garnier as it is extremely affordable and does the trick! I am always trying out new shampoos and conditioners, I still haven't found one I repurchase again and again.

Shower gel;

The Radox Brazilian fusion is my number one favourite shower gel of all time and can be very hard to find! It smells amazing, I honestly can’t describe it, and it is just so nice! I then wash out the shampoo and conditioner and go in with a hair masque.

Hair masque;

My mask of choice will come as a shock to none of you, it is the Charles Worthington strength and repair hair masques. I very rarely wash my hair without using this product after. It does wonders for my hair in general look, texture and well-being. I have raved about this product before it is my hair holy grail. While the hair mask is in and working wonders I then shave with my Venus breeze razor.

Venus have been my only type of razor since started shaving forever ago. I can’t stress enough how much I hate body hair, and I don’t care what anyone says about hair being “natural” and “there for a reason” it’s all blah blah blah to me. If you LOVE your hair, don’t shave and hate shaving and whatever else that’s great for you congratulations, but don’t preach to me about it because I’m not going to listen. It is each to their own however, I hate it always have and always will. Rant over and back to the point this razor is perfect for any part of the body that you are shaving I have probably cut myself twice in my whole razor span life which is not bad at all. The soap on the razor leads the way for a closer and smoother shave and it’s honestly the easiest thing to do. I then wash the mask out and hop out of the shower.

Post shower;

Face;

La Roche-Posay Toleriane. This is a moisturiser for sensitive skin and I started using it around the end of June this year and since then I have noticed a significant difference on my face, it soothes the skin and leaves a nice layer over the face that is non greasy and doesn’t pull the oils out of my skin either. I apply this cream all over my face, neck and décolletage.

Eyes; Olay eye cream.

This eye cream is perfect for lightening those under eye dark circles and preventing the under eyes from drying out. However, I have been noticing a little puffiness in my under eyes as of late with less sleep and earlier mornings on the week days with work so I have bought a new vichy eye cream with a metal top that rolls the eye cream on, which further soothes the eye. I will keep you posted on how that goes!

Nuxe lip balm;

This was and still is my first ever purchase from Space NK and I am in love. This lip balm is my saviour from dried out lips and I honestly don’t know how I went without it. It smells amazing and is extremely nourishing I would defiantly recommend picking it up.

Body butter;

On a day to day basis I use my Vaseline on the go spray as a body moisturiser as it is quick and easy. Although when I have a little more time on my hands I will use my Cocoa butter. I adore the palmers cocoa butter as it is just the right amount of richness and thickness as well as the fact it dries into the skin quick enough. It leaves the skin smelling amazing and feeling luxurious, soft and plump.

So that is the end of my current pamper routine, I hope it has helped you and given you some inspiration for yourself!

Au revoir until next time,

C xo

Friday Favourites; quote, music, food, films and books.

                                                                T.G.I.F.

Aloha and happy Friday to you! I’m spending my day chilling out as it’s my first day off work all week. I am currently writing this post and browsing clothing websites for some new bits as I’m feeling spending and thinking of going shopping tomorrow!

Fave quote

Simple but effective.

Fave song; The 1975Undo

I can’t stop listening to this song, it’s so calming and catchy.

Fave film; Guardians of the galaxy.

I went to see the guardians of the galaxy with the moths on Wednesday and it was so good! I didn’t really know what to expect but I love my marvel films so I presumed I wouldn’t hate it! We went to see it in 3D and it was hilarious. Groot is my new favourite thing he is so adorable and the best guardian in my opinion! The storyline is easy to follow and keeps you entertained, I think I cried twice as well there’s something for everyone in it. Guardians of the galaxy is a film is worth the watch!

Fave food; frozen yogurt.

I think I’m obsessed with strawberry frozen yogurt.. It is so tasty! I’m finding it hard to believe that it is relatively good for you because it is so nice! I’ve been getting mine from a smoothie juice and yogurt stand called jump. I get the berry topper which is strawberry frozen yogurt with strawberries and blueberries and it is so yummy!

Fave thing; Then Night Circus.

I bought this book on Tuesday and after the first page I was hooked. There’s nothing like a good book that keeps you wanting to read!

What was your favourite thing this week?

Au revoir until next time!

Motivational Monday; July Playlist. Music and Lifestyle.

                                                                         July 2014 Playlist

Aloha and Welcome to the new monthly playlist if the blog! Music is a really big part of my life and always has been. Listening to music, even if it is just one song, is something I can’t go a day without. I honestly like a lot of genres so you will see quite a random and ecliptic mix in these monthly posts! Music is something that can change my mood almost automatically. I use music a lot for escapism, for example when I’m trying to unwind and relax after a long day. Or I also use it as a pick me up for heading on a night out and getting into that going out mood!

Artist and albums on replay.

The 1975; are a band from Manchester from England who have taken the world by storm since September 2013. Their self-titled debut album is something I can’t go a day without listening too, well at least three songs a day! Whatever I'm feeling there is always a song for the mood, they have slow sets mid tones and upbeat music which is all I really need! There hasn’t been a day since I found their ep and then album when I have not listened to them. The 1975 are  hard to define and set in a genre. they are a mix of indie, pop, rock, electro and singer songwriter all smashed into one. They are a band I never grow tired of and I don’t think I will for a long time.

Lily Allen- Sheezus.

I have loved Lily Allen from the very start and I am so glad she is back. Sheezus is a well thought out and well written album that tackles the ongoings in the music industry, media and celebrity culture in present day, as well as her own personal life. There isn’t one song I do not like on this album I have so much respect and adoration for Lilly Allen and I always will, because she is a smart and strong woman who is not afraid to speak her mind. Every time she is knocked down she gets up again and comes back stronger. Her voice is something I’ll never grow tired off, I fell more in love with the album after watching her track by track, see link below.

Callum Burrows aka Saint Raymond. Is a British singer songwriter from Nottingham; England and I cannot get enough of him. Saint Raymond is definitely my favourite singer of the moment. He does not have an album released yet but I am in love with his voice and music already. I was so happy when I found out he will be supporting Ed Sheeran in October and I will get to see him live!

Sam smith; Sam Smiths voice is perfection. His debut album In the lonely hour has been overplayed a ridiculous amount this month especially in the lead up to Longitude 2014. I will definitely be going to see the talented singer when and if he comes to Ireland on a solo tour as he is phenomenal live!

Playlist itself.

James Bay;

When we were on fire.

If you ever want to be in love.

The 1975;
Undo.

Head.cars.bending.

Settle down live version.

Falling for you. This is my favourite song from the 1975, it is not on the album as it was released as an EP but I adore it.

L8 cmmer.

Close your eyes

Take my place

George Ezra;

Leaving it up to you. This song makes my heart melt a little!

Blame it on me.

Sam smith;

How will I know Whitney Houston cover.

I’ve told you know.

I know I’m not the only one.

Leave your lover.

Saint Raymond;

Ghosts.

Fall at your feet.

Everything she wants.

Brighter days.

Bonfires.

Ed sheeran; Don’t.

Sing.

Coldplay; Magic.

A sky full of stars.

Alt J. I found Alt J around mid july their album an awesome wave was playing in store and I really enjoyed it and now I am listening to them non stop!

Tessellate.

Breezeblocks.

Haim. I love haim a ridiculous amount, I love that they are all so talented and that they are sisters because they have a bond unlike any other band at the moment. Naturally when Longitude 2014 finished my gig blues began and I have been listening to Haim to refresh their performance in my mind.

The wire.

Let me go.

Strong enough cover ft Lorde.

Vance Joy; Riptide.

Future ft Kanye West; I won. This is my going out getting ready song, it is such a tune!

Eminem ft Nate Russell; Headlights.

Partynextdoor ft Drake; Recognise.

 Nico and Vinz; Am I wrong?

 Gregory Alan Isakov; Big black car.

This is a lovely song to listen to when you are winding down.

Route 94 ft Jess Glynne; My love.

Neon Jungle; Louder.

Sia; Chandelier.

I really did not like this song when I first heard it, however I have grown to like it quite a lot. Sia’s voice and style seems to have changed but there is something I really like about it.

James Young; Fragments.

I love this song so so much James Youngs voice is so soothing I just adore it.

Clean Bandit; Extraordinary.

Jubel; Klingande.

Sigma; Nobody to love.

Florida Georgia line; Dirt.

Walk of the earth; Red hands.

 The vamps and Demi Lovato; Somebody to you.

Ella Henderson;  Ghost.

Demi Lovato and Cher Lloyd; Really don’t care.

Magic; Rude.

5 seconds of summer; This band is ridiculously catchy, no shame!

Beside you.

Good girls are bad girls.

Throwbacks; I’m constantly listening to old favourite or just great songs, I’m a lover of nostalgia and good music never fades, once a good song always a good song.

Amy Winehouse; stronger than me.

Warning there will probably always be an Amy Winehouse song in my throwback section, because I will always love her music.

Lana del ray; Young and beautiful.

I couldn’t imagine not listening to this song, especially in July!

Oasis; Wonderwall.

I have fallen back in love with the oasis album; what’s the story morning glory. Basically because there was only one copy of it in work and when I went to put it on I realised it had been sold and I was craving a listen to wonderwall and champagne supernova and spent the journey home losing my thoughts so the music of oasis.

Andrew Belle; All those pretty lights.

Avenged Sevenfold; Dear God.

Shawn Mullins; Lullaby.

UB40; Ironically I have been drinking a lot of red wine this month and this song is suiting!

Red red wine

Lily Allen;  Who’d have known?

Bon Iver; Beach baby.

Box car racer; There is.

So there’s a snippet of my July playlist! Hope you enjoyed and found some gems of your own.

Au revoir until next time!
