Motivational Mondays: Fashion

                                       Mod like on a Monday.

Alohaa and happy Monday! Today is a fashion post about two Pennys/Primark oversized coatigans that I have been over wearing, so much so that they deserve their own post.

I am literally obsessed with these oversized coatigans. I saw the dogtooth coatigan in an ad for pennys/primark autumn winter launch and I just had to have it. When they were launched in Dublin I went to buy one straight away and began to fall in love! I then had buyer’s remorse for two weeks so I had to back to get the coatigan black haha.  I’m sure people think I never change or something, I've been wearing them that much, but I don’t care I adore them! You can buy the coatigans for 25 euro, I honestly think they look more expensive which is always a plus. They are not great for keeping you extra warm however, they are perfect for the weather at the moment. The weather seems freezing but when you are out in it, it isn’t actually that cold. I find the amount of heat they keep with a scarf around your neck is just right! The coatigans remind of a jacket my mam had when she was my age in her mod phase, which I think is really cute! Both colours go with everything, I like to wear skirts and dresses under them to make a look more feminine. I prefer wearing the coatigans open as I think it is more figure flattering! I hope you enjoyed todays post, definitely check the coatigans out of you think you would like them.

Au revoir until next time

                                        Five Friday Favourites

Aloha, and happy Friday to you! The weeks are flying in and I don’t even know what to do with myself. Week four of semester one has just ended and I haven’t done any work at all. I really need to sort myself out this weekend and start working! I’m feeling positive about it because it’s a long weekend so I even have an extra day! I also cannot believe Halloween is less than a week away... I am SO excited. Anyway that’s enough of my rambling, hope you all had a fab week and enjoy todays post!

Fave quote

I really love this and think it's so sweet! The quote reminds me of when you have a really good dream that feels so real, you're completely happy but then you wake up, realise it was a dream and feel a little sad. I don't know about you but I always try to have the dream again when I go back to sleep but sadly it never works for me ha ha.
Fave thing.
My favourite thing that happened this week has to be Kim Kardashian and Kanye West getting engaged! I think everyone knows I love anything Kardashian and when I found out about the engagement was delighted for them. The thing I loved most about the engagement, was Lana Del Ray’s Young and Beautiful being played by the orchestra in the background as he asked her to marry him. Young and Beautiful is one of my top five favourite songs of all time. I have overplayed it to death but I still get a lovely feeling whenever I listen to it. Ugh it’s so perfect!
Fave laugh
I find this hilarious my sister showed it to me and I’ve been replaying it ever since. Spegy merbles is my ultimate fave from the video, it’s so funny!
Fave song
Nirvana- Sam Smith
I adore this song. And I really can’t fault it, between the lyrics, the meaning, and the tempo it is seriously so good! you take me to nirvana.

Fave photo

This is soo cute how could you not smile at this?! This pug is also a shout out to my friend Aoife (Queeny) to make her smile today as she has to get up mega early to be a top student while I stay in bed because i'm not in college today! :)
So they are my Friday faves what are yours?!
Au revoir until next time.

                             Five Friday Favourites.

Happy Friday!

I hope you enjoy todays post and have a happy Friday whatever you are doing. I am heading into town with my moths tonight and seriously craving a cheeky drink or two!

Fave quote:

This quote speaks for itself. It sums up the week I was having, I was feeling a little lost and unsure, and because of this I spent the majority of the week thinking and sorting things out. I had a great talk with one of my friends yesterday, it was really lovely because we never really talk seriously, we just always have a laugh. Her perspective and advice left a great impact on me and I’ve really taken it on board. I do believe that everything happens for a reason and things will always get better but, it is easy to forget from time ,to time. I’m looking forward to a great weekend and to start a fresh week!

Fave laugh: Kathryns Tweet.

Kitty McLoughlin ‏@Kathryn_McL

@TypicaIGirl: but officer they were fucking with my clique” @_Clarra.

I actually lol’d when I saw this, I’d love to say that to someone haha.  Clique by Jay Z and Kanye West is one of my favorite songs of all time, it is such an anthem. Ain’t nobody fresher than my clique, clique, clique, clique, clique! The majority of my favorite tweets are my friend Kathryn’s, she always says or retweets something funny and it looks like I stalk her, but I love it :)

The summer set jukebox. This is such an upbeat song that puts me in the best of moods! I’ve loved the summer set since I was about fourteen and I’m so glad they are back, they make me feel nostalgic when I listen to them it’s so cute.

Fave film:
The City of immortal bones.
I wanted to see this film the minute I seen the advertisement months back, but it wasn’t well advertised in the cinema so I missed it sadly.  However, I watched it online and fell in love. I really want to read the books now to see what happens to Clary and Jay! I don’t think I have the patience to wait for the film.

Fave photo: Come little children I’ll take the away into a land of enchantment…. The Sanderson sisters from Hocus Pocus.
I am feeling very excited for Halloween it's getting closer and closer! I have already watched this film three times since the month started..it never gets old for me! My favourite sister is Sarah Sanderson, as a child I wanted to be her for Halloween ever year, because she was the “pretty witch” haha.

Au revoir till next time!

Motivational Mondays: Beauty

My favourite vampy lipsticks for Autumn/Winter and any day inbetween.

I have been really enjoying blogging lately and I’m thinking of writing twice a week on here. I plan on posting on Mondays and Fridays, I just want to give it a go and see how it works out! So if you’re interested here is today’s first motivational Monday post. :]

Personally I wear dark lipstick whenever I feel like it. However, I do like to indulge in the dark, rich, colours in the autumn and winter months. For some reason dark lipsticks make me feel seasonal and cosy. I have built up a nice collection of dark vampy shades but I have four that I wear all the time. The lipsticks I mention today, are the ones that I feel have the best staying power, look the nicest and the ones I couldn’t live without!

Revlon Black Cherry 477.

This was my first ever vampy dark shade so it will always hold a special place in my heart. It is a dark burgundy shade, it applies really easy and has a gorgeous pigment. Black Cherry is the darkest colour in my collection and I really adore it. I love wearing black cherry on really dull dark days, when I’m going to the cinema or just doing something cosy.

Kate Moss for Rimmel Matte 107.
This is from the Kate Moss matte collection for Rimmel, which is one of my favourite collections of all time. The colours glide on so smooth and easy, the pigment is so bright even with one coat. Most importantly the matte is not drying, making reapplication so easy and a dream to wear! I think this is the most wearable of my favourites. If you are afraid of vampy shades, I’d buy this one first. The colour is a dark blue toned red, it goes really well with my pale and fake tanned skin. I can’t fault 107 I have already bought it three times!
Rimmel Glam Plum Fulham 407.

This is from the newest Rimmel moisture renew lipstick collection. I think I fell in love with the name before I even seen the lipstick itself. The colour is a deep plum shade with a slight gloss. I usually hate shiny or glossy lips but it just works in this lipstick. The colour is so pigmented and lasts for hours! The lipstick goes on like a balm you almost forget it’s a lipstick until you see the colour.

So they were my top picks, What are your favourites? :)

Au revoir until next time

                                       Five Friday Favourites.

Aloha and happy Friday to you!

This week has been busy, but a good busy. I was just settling back into college and sorting out some bits and pieces! I’m so glad it is Friday though. I will be spending my Friday in college, shopping and then having a night in with the moths. There is nothing better than food, laughs and drinks with friends :) Hope you enjoy todays post!

Fave quote:
I adore this quote. I think it’s so easy to get caught up in thinking about the future and the way you want certain things to turn out. This can be work, college, relationships and whatever else. We all forget the future vision we are thinking up isn’t guaranteed. Paths and people change and that’s just life. I’m not saying give up on your dream or your hopes for the future but enjoy the road you’re taking now! Spend time with your family and friends, work hard, get drunk, make mistakes, do whatever makes you happy! Don’t keep thinking of the past or what to do next, think of all you have right now and take it day by day.

Fave song: Georgia on my Mind Micheal Buble cover.

Ever since I watched Danielle Geimer singing her take on the famous song on the American x factor, I've fallen back in love with it. I have adored it for as long as I can remember, and my nana and Mam both love the song which was originally sung by Ray Charles. It gives me that warm feeling inside when I listen to it. It takes me back to a very young me, singing Georgia, Georgiiaaaa along with my nana in her kitchen, it's memories like these that give me bliss.

Fave App: This week I found Instagram and I am addicted to it! My friend Aoife told me to get it ages ago because she said I’d love it but I always forgot. She was right and now I can’t get enough of it! Who doesn’t love photos after all?

Fave thing: The change in the weather.

This week has really brought the winter back and I couldn't be happier. Between the fresh crisp mornings and the cold cosy nights, I am in my element! Winter has always been my favourite time of year, it is my favourite for makeup and fashion trends as I adore the dark warm colours and all those layers!

Fave photo:
This is the cutest thin ever! How can you not smile at this?! I can imagine a little voice saying hey boiii’s! ha-ha.
So they were my Friday favourites, what are yours?
Au revoir until next time!

                                   Five Friday Favourites.

Alohaaaw and Happy Friday to you!

I am all better, thank god! I was in the horrors this time last week and I am so glad it’s over. Last week was the sickest I have ever been, I never want to be like that again haha. I am so glad its October, I love knowing Halloween is only around the corner as well as the colder weather!

Fave quote:

Like everyone else, I too can be guilty of dwelling and making things to be worse than they are in reality. I have a tendency to be a bit drama queen and an over thinker. I always have been at times it humours me as well as my friends and family. Yes things may be a bit up in the air at the moment but it will get better, if you really want it to be. You just let go of whatever or whoever is bringing you down. Instead of focusing on the negatives focus on the positive things. This can be anything that makes you happy may it be college, work, friends and family. There is no point being negative and wasting time thinking of something you can’t have or someone that’s being a d***k. They don’t deserve your time or thoughts so don’t give them it. Be happy like the old saying kindness kills, and you being happy will probably annoy them so there’s a bonus.
Fave song: I'm sitting pretty on the throne, there's nothing more I want except to be alone - The love club, Lorde.  This song has been over playing in my mind all week. It’s just SO good whatever mood you are in. I love Lorde and the majority of her album pure heroin. I think she is really unique and talented, and it amazes me that she is only 16?! Definitely check her out of you haven’t already.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hfjLLTmv9T8

Fave thing: Lindt dark chocolate. Mmm… at the start of the week I got a craving for really dark rich chocolate, which never happens. I like all kinds of chocolate, I am a chocoholic, but I never crave dark chocolate, so I went and bought some! I bought the 70% Lindt dark chocolate and it was delish. Dark chocolate is meant to be the best chocolate to have so maybe this new craving will be my new thing!

Fave day: Wednesday.
I had a really nice day on Wednesday, even though it was lashing rain and extremely dull on the weather front. I was up early and met my friend for lunch in town, we went to Yamaori for lunch which is a Japanese restaurant in town and it was extremely nice. I am a sucker for the bento box its so affordable and has a lot of variety. If you have never been check it out!
I then came home, chilled out and went to the cinema with my moths (group if girl friends). I wasn’t going to go initially because I was like oh the rain effort of leaving the house again etc. I was basically just being a lazy moan. But then I was like no I want to see my friends and I did want to see the film when I saw the trailer ages ago. We went to see Prisoners, It was a really well made, great thriller but I was not the better after seeing it. I weirdly love thrillers and the occasional scary film but afterwards I’m always really paranoid and get so scared, yet I still put myself through them and I don’t know why haha. Despite being scared and freaked out afterwards I would recommend the film, the plot twist was brilliant and the story line was really good! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bpXfcTF6iVk

Fave photo/laugh:
I think this photo is adorable, it instantly made me laugh, smile and cheer me up. I love it :)
So they were my Friday favourites. what are yours? :]

Au revoir until next time,

My September 2013

                                   September Favourites.

September has been one of the rollercoaster months for me, a load of things has happened and I’ve been caught up in everyday life. I haven’t been using a lot of new products and I haven’t gone shopping in ages because like many other students, I’ve been broke. Since last weekend I’ve been unwell, with a very glamorous streptococcal throat! Of course it was bound to happen the week I had planned to hang out with friends, shop and do a lot of nice fun activities, before I go back to college this coming Monday. Alas, instead of these lovely plans I’ve been bedridden with no voice and just craving food! However, if I’m better by Saturday, I’ll be going shopping so there may be a haul or OOTD coming up very soon! So, with that little rant and update over, here is my smallest monthly favourites ever, enjoy!

Beauty.
Lips: Kate Moss for Rimmel nude 03. (Under 7 euro)
This is my perfect light brown nude shade. Since I became obsessed with the Rimmel apocalypse nude eclipse lip lacquer, I wanted a lipstick that was almost identical the colour. I was humming and hawing over buying M.A.C teddy which is a gorgeous nude brown, but I couldn’t justify spending 20 on a lipstick without even looking for a cheaper dupe. I am always looking at high end lipsticks then looking for cheaper alternatives. In my opinion if you can barely tell the difference between high end and low end, you may as well go for the cheaper option and save that cash!
Hair care: (under 10 euro)
I’ve been really into hair care the past two months I recently dyed my hair a darker blonde and I’m loving it. It’s just more natural and it looks a lot healthier! I think the healthier look is down to these two dream products I’ve been using!

L'Oreal Paris Elnett satin heat styling spray. I’ve been using this mainly as a heat protectant it smells amazing and leaves my hair really soft after its blow dried or straightened. I plan on experimenting more with my hair so I’ll be looking for more styling sprays like this one!

I have also been adoring the L'Oreal ever riche hair treatment, which I mentioned in last month’s favourites, it’s been going hand in hand with the heat protectant helping my hair feel and look better. Both products really do work wonders!
Body: (under 10 euro)

Dove purely pampering body butter, with Shea and warm vanilla. I bought this like most gems on a whim! I went into boots with the intention of picking up my go to palmers butter, but I was on a budget and needed a few things. When I wandered down the body isle, I seen special offer signs and my mind was pinging! I seen that the dove body cream was on special offer from eight euro to under four euro! My friend swears by her dove moisturiser so I said I’d pick this one up and give it a go! I am a sucker for scents so I chose the Shea and warm vanilla. I actually adore this cream, it applies really well, dries really quickly and leaves me skin exceptionally smooth. The thing I really like is the scent lasts for hours, I’ll put it on and my room will smell of the cream, it is divine!

Fashion

Clothing: (under 20 euro)
My skull t-shirt from Bershka. At the start of the month I was going to a christening and I had no idea what to wear, I wanted a versatile outfit of two things I could over wear together and separately. I opted for a wine pencil skirt from River Island and an oversized baggy t-shirt dress from Bershka. I hadn’t gone to Bershka in around four years but, it was all done up and me and my friend said we’d give it a go. I was only five minutes in the store when I found the t-shirt, I tried it on and fell in love. I can't get enough of oversized comfy t-shirts because you can wear them in so many ways. I tried it on tucked into the skirt and it looked great! Since the christening I have worn the top so much and I’m going back into Bershka to see if I can pick up some more like these!
Jewellery.

I wanted bands like these for ages and couldn’t get my hands on them in Lanzarote. So a friend kindly picked me up three bands while he was away. My favourite of the three is the pink one because luminous pink is my all-time favourite colour. My birthday dress for my 20th was even a luminous pink skater dress! I have worn the bracelet almost every day since I’ve got it and I don’t plan on taking it off any time soon, It goes with everything. :]

Random favourite: (90 euro)

My random favourite of this month is my new phone, which is the Sony xpeira e.

I bought this phone with some of my birthday money and I am obsessed! It was 90 euro and has so much! It’s the best phone I’ve had in a long while and I adore it, I’m not good with technology so other people might disagree but I can’t fault it. It has loads of apps, a good battery and it is easy to work so what more do you need?!

So they were my September favourites, I hope you enjoyed!

What have you been loving this month? Feel free let me know below :]

Au revoir until next time,
