Five Friday Favourites; Longitude, lifestyle and music

                                                                     T.G.I.F.

Aloha and happy Friday! My day is bittersweet as I’m spending the day with my little sister before she goes away for two weeks on Sunday. My week has been a toss-up of work and chilling I have been exhausted all week and I’m not really sure why!

Fave day; Longitude 2014.

Hoping back in time to Saturday the 18th of July; Longitude 2014 in Marlay Park was my summer highlight so far! This year I went with Tara my sister Emma and her friend Sinead. Tara came to mine to meet up and we then jumped on the bus at Santry to avoid the crowds the closer to town. I wore an electric blue slip dress, a floral kimono and had a leopard print rain jacket. My outfit was full of the colours and full of prints which is what any festival outfit should be. I also realised I wore no black, myself and Tara were so proud as black is constant in almost every outfit I wear! For my makeup I opted for a brown Smokey eye and a nude lip, keeping it classy and wearable. If I wore a vibrant lip it definitely would have smudged leaving me looking like a hot mess! The festival itself was amazing, we watched Hozier, Sam smith, the 1975 chrvches, and Haim. My favourite acts were Sam Smith and the 1975 by far. Every act that hit the main stage were amazing but Sam Smith and the 1975 stole the stage for me! I couldn’t get over how good Sam Smith was live, he sounded even better than he does on CD if that is possible. His stage presence was so humble and overwhelming, it was clear that he was so happy to be there and it was so adorable. I’m so glad I was there for his first Irish appearance it’s something I know I’ll never forget. The 1975 had not slept after playing a gig in Spain and still managed to preform extremely well. Like the 1975 concert in February Matty took the stage with a bottle of red wine in hand and charmed his way through the set. The crowd went wild for the Manchester boys, screaming increasingly louder when Matty took to the mike and said “Dublin we’re glad to be back, I love it here!” The crowd took every song well but screamed and sung louder for girls, chocolate and settle down. I personally loved M.O.N.E.Y. and Heart out. Heart out was played featuring their friend from home playing the saxophone live adding that lovely jazz element to the set. I wished they’d stayed for longer when it ended! We didn’t spend much time in the surrounding stages probably because all of the talent was on the main stage. To my surprise I didn’t spend that much money which I was delighted about! I adore festivals and concerts I hope I keep my gig streak running throughout the year!

It’s so true, chocolate is everything!

Fave thing;

New Yankee candle; Black coconut.

A new Yankee candle makes my week, this is the most calming fresh scent, and I love it so much.

Fave song;

Rude; Magic.

I have been overplaying this song all week. It is so chill and catchy if you haven't heard it already where have you been?!

What have you been loving this week?

Au revoir until next time!

Five Friday Favourites; hair, music and lifestyle.

                                                                   T.G.I.F.

Aloha and happy Friday! First things first, new name new me? I’ve been trying to come up with new blog names for a few weeks although I love keepingupwithclazz, I want something more original so feel free to throw suggestions my way! My lovely friend Emma came up with Call-me-Clazz and I think it has a ring too it! My week was a lovely one, full of late nights, laughs, seeing friends and chilling out. I’m spending my day chilling as my plans have changed, oh well gives me more time to prepare for longitude tomorrow! I am SO excited for Longitude 2014, I can’t believe I am going back this year to see so many people I love with some of my favourite people! We are heading out early to get our festival party on, I’ll be pre drinking wine and whatever else tasty and not too expensive at the festival. Rumour has it that once again Barcardi are one of the sponsoring this year and if that’s true I’ll be one happy festival goer. Last year oak heart Bacardi sponsored the event and it was so yummy! I will be wearing either a jumpsuit or a slip dress with a kimono and probably my vans or white converse keeping it chill and still festival chic. That’s my outfit plan for nice weather but it will probably rain so I need a backup one!

Fave quote

You are in control off what you feel and what you believe. You really can do almost anything if you set your mind to! Be like the bird, calm and in control knowing that even if the branch does break and you fall you will be able to pick yourself up again.

Fave singer; Saint Raymond.

I am so in love with this guys voice, I am overplaying his song ghost all week. His voice is unique although he does remind me of someone I just can’t put my finger on who it is! I am over the moon that I will be seeing him live in October as he is supporting Ed Sheeran in his UK and Ireland tour.

 Fave show;

I found this show on Netflix at the start of the week and I am already into the second season. The show is about a group of people who start to develop special superhero abilities and they are looking to find out where they have come from and why they have them. It is so addictive, each episode is a cliff-hanger and ends with “to be continued” which leaves you wanting more.

Fave thing;

Half up half down hair do.

I only use heat on my hair when I am going out or going somewhere nice so that is not every day at all. My usual go to hair style is a messy high ponytail and I have grown bored of the look! Instead I have been opting for a messy half up half down hair do. It is extremely easy to do and so many different ways to wear it with minimal effort required.

Fave photo;

Someone needs to take me to the new Harry Potter world in America! How amazing does that look?!

What have you been loving this week?

Au revoir for now!

Friday Lifestyle Favourites; Film, Music, Quote, Food, Exam results.

                                                                            T.G.I.F.

Aloha and happy Friday to you! Apologies for the lack of content last week, it was very busy and I was quite sad because, I had to say bye to one of my best friends Katie who has left for a year to conquer Australia! Nonetheless, I’m back feeling better than I have in a long time. This week brought a much needed change, I have said my goodbyes to the bad things from last month and I have welcomed July with open arms. I’m spending my Friday relaxing and pampering before one of my old friend Karl’s 21st birthday party tonight, I can’t wait to get all dolled up!

Fave thing; passing my 2nd year of university!!

This was by far the best thing that happened to me this week. I found my last semester really testing, the work was much harder naturally and I thought I was going to fail horribly. However, I came out with the highest grades I have gotten so far, which I am so happy and proud about! I’m ready to work harder than ever before in September, it is my final year and I want to give it my all, I know I can do it.

Fave quote;

Negativity attracts negativity, when you feel bad or are having a bad day staying down is only going to drag you down further. The slightest thing becomes the biggest drama and it can be hard to get out of feeling this way. However, it is better and braver to fake it till you make it, put on a smile smack on some lipstick and get on with your day! You are the only person that can truly make yourself happy so do it, you deserve it. Don’t people please and put your happiness in others hands.

Fave song; Ghost by Ella Henderson

This song is one of my summer anthems thanks to my sister Emma. I’m not going to lie I wasn’t a fan of Ella when she was on the x factor but this song shows how much of a powerful singer she is. The lyrics are brilliant in contrast to the beat and it’s a great song to listen to to get you into a good mood in the morning!

Fave activity; Yoga. This week I got back into my daily yoga sessions and I am so happy I have. Yoga completely calms me, it is something I look forward to everyday, despite being good for you, it is also extremely enjoyable. Yoga gives you a much needed time out, from the rather full on and busy world we live in today. I love it because it is guaranteed minutes taken out of your day, to put all of your focus on your mind, body and soul. If you haven’t tried yoga yet and think it is something you could be interested in have a go!

Fave film; 22 jump street.

I am late to the band wagon but I’m hoping on it regardless. I went to see it on Monday with my fave boi (Made in Chelsea reference) Robbie :). Monday was a really sunny day in Dublin which meant we were basically the only people in the cinema. I’m laughing thinking back on it now because after the cinema it was still nice out and instead of sitting in a beer garden, we sat indoors we’re strange ha-ha. I thought the film was really funny, not as funny as the 21 jump street but good nonetheless. One of my favourite bits was when Channing Tatum put on a fake Mexican accent and just named everyone from Dora the explorer. The film is worth the watch for a pick me up but if you haven’t seen it yet maybe wait for the DVD and save yourself some cash!

 Fave food; Snap Peas

I have been loving snap peas these week, random but true they go with everything and make any dish scrumptious.

What was your favourite thing that happened this week?

Au revoir for now!
