Beauty, Fashion and Lifestyle round up from 2013.

                                                   2013 Favourites.

Alohaaa!

I can’t believe I am writing a yearly favourites already. Overall 2013 has been a good year for me, like everything else there has been ups and downs but I have generally enjoyed this year. I had a lovely Christmas day we didn’t do much at all but it was just nice spending time with my loved ones exchanging gifts, watching movies and most importantly having that yummy Christmas dinner! I was spoiled this Christmas and I’m feeling very loved and lucky! There was so much thought put into gifts I received and gifts I gave and I’m just really thankful for my friends and family. This week is my final week in my Christmas job which I am very sad about but here’s hoping for a new job that I will love just as much in the New Year! Even though I will not have a job anymore, I have exams and assignments that need to be done before the end of the month and I am starting a mentorship! I am so excited to see what 2014 brings with this blog, college and everything else in between! So sit back relax and please enjoy todays post :)

Beauty:

Mac Studio Fix Fluid.

http://www.brownthomas.com/foundation/studio-fix-fluid-spf-15-30ml/invt/77x1832xm6jc

I fell in love with this foundation in 2013. It was the first thing I have ever bought from MAC and it’s probably been one of my best buys of the year. It is a medium to heavy coverage which makes the skin look flawless. I use it when I’m going on a night out or somewhere special so I feel my upmost. I will be doing a more in-depth review of it in the next coming weeks so stay tuned!

The Naked Pallet.

http://www.urbandecay.com/urban-decay/eye-makeup/naked/245.html

I have the first and second naked pallet but the first one is still the best in my opinion. I favour the first one because the warmer colours suit my eye colour better. I think the original naked pallet is the perfect pallet for a Smokey eye and that’s all that concerns me when looking at eye shadows.

Skincare.

Towards the end of the year from September to December I got really into skin care. This is for many reasons but to sum it up my skin was going through a really rough patch. I went through a few different brands and routines until I found my latest one. My skin seems like it is starting to clear now but I don’t want to jinx it too much. So when my skin is all clear I will do a full review on my skincare routine.

Fashion:

There are a few fashion things I loved this year however, Pencil Skirts stole the number one spot. They are my favourite fashion item to come out of 2013 and I will be carrying them into 2014 for sure. I just love all kinds of pencil skirts but my two favourites are from River Island! I think they are so flattering and can make any outfit dressy or chic. One thing I want to change about my 2014 wardrobe is finding a good division between my casual and nightwear because I always have more casual then dressy or vice versa.

Entertainment:

Bar/pub: This year I fell in love with a brand of bars called the porter house. The one in temple bar is my ultimate favourite. It is the biggest one in Dublin and I think it has the best atmosphere. They do the most delicious cocktails and great food it is just a really cool place to go for drinks or just a few casuals with friends.

Music:
The 1975 and Kodaline are my favourite bands that have come out of 2013.
I can’t quite remember when I started listening to the Kodaline! I went to see them at the 2013 Longitude festival with Tara in July and we loved them live! I then got tickets for my birthday for their 02 gig in March 2014 which I am so excited for because I know more songs than I did back in July. In November just gone I actually met the band when they were in my work busking and doing a meet and greet, signing albums and taking pictures. They are such lovely lads and are so talented. I can’t wait until March!

So even though I clearly love Kodaline, the 1975 stole my heart this year. I can’t fault them at all, their album is so well put together and I am so sad I’m not going to their concert in February. I have been listening to them non-stop on a loop since July and I have even converted some friends to loving the band. So far it’s alright, heart out, settle down and girls are my favourite songs. Give them a listen they are worth it!

Films:

Catching Fire: This was my most awaited film this year. I can’t even begin to describe my love for the hunger games trilogy, I plan on re reading them and over watching the films until the final one comes out next year. The books are amazing and the catching fire film did the book justice. It was brilliantly made and an amazing cinematic experience. I can’t wait to see it again!

The Great Gatsby.
Phenomenal. That is the first word I thought of describing this film. How Leonardo DiCaprio has not won an Oscar is a shock to me. He is so amazing and the true essence of this film. I couldn’t imagine anyone else playing Jay Gatsby. Between the soundtrack and the actors, the storyline if lifted and made 1000 times better. I have already over watched this film but I don’t think I’ll ever grow tired of it. If you haven’t seen it where have you been?!

Lifestyle:
DCU: Passing my first year of college has made a huge impact on my life this year. Between getting into DCU and then going on to pass my first year in college is something I am very proud of. I am now in the middle of my second year and waiting semester one results, an exam at the end of January and a final assignment that is due on the 10th. I am trying my best not to stress and just get on with it. I love my course and I am so excited for semester two!

Friends:  It is so cliché but this year has really opened my eyes to who is really there for me and who I am there for. There have been several events that I have looked back on a realised who was actually there for me when I needed them the most. It’s all well and good having loads of friends but when it comes down to being there for one another, you have to look and see would they be willing to do things you would for them? Would they help you like you’ve helped them before? If yes is the answer to the both of those rhetorical questions, good for you! But if it’s a no maybe you should think about having a talk with your “friends”. If that doesn’t work maybe letting them go is the best option. In the end it is best to surround yourself with people that will lift you higher, not drag you down.

And my final round up of 2013 is Blogging: A very big part of my year was delving into the world of blogging and I am so glad I started. I always wanted to write but I felt like it was a farfetched dream and I would never actually be able to start. This was until May when I got a little push and started to make this dream into a reality. Writing this blog is something I look forward to writing every week. Even if it is to a small audience, I don’t really mind because I enjoy it and that’s all that matters to me. I have many plans for 2014 so stick around if you want to see where this blog takes me.

Au revoir until next time and happy New Year!

                       Friday Favourites.

Alohaaa and happy Friday to you! I can’t believe it is eleven days until Christmas, words can’t describe how excited I am! I am currently avoiding some college work that is due next week, I am the ultimate procrastinator... However, I plan to at least get all of my presentation done today. There hasn’t been a lot going on this week, I’ve just mainly been in college and work. I will be the happiest person next Friday because it is payday AND I’m finished college until my exams in January YAAAAY! Hope you all have a lucky Friday the 13th and enjoy todays post.

Fave quote:
I need this sign <3

Fave thing: Our Christmas tree! This year is my first year with a real Christmas tree. My mam and dad bought a fake one when I was one and it has been our tree ever since. But this year my mam was lusting after a real tree so we decided to get one. I don't have a photo on my camera or laptop but here is the tree on my Instagram and I'll leave the link below! We started decorating the house the other night at like midnight which was quite random but funny. After about half an hour, my mam decorated the remainder of the tree as we all started getting tired and heading to bed one by one haha. However, she did a really good job :] isn’t it so pretty?!  http://instagram.com/_clazz

Fave photo:

This is such a nice photo, I probably love it because I adore all those sun and moon quotes of forbidden love. I personally think they are so sweet.

Fave day: Tuesdays: After months of waiting I finally got my room painted. I’ve been waiting so long to get my room painted so I can start doing it up, like putting up photos and quotes and little things like that. I’m going to be getting some bits for my room on Sunday which I’m really excited about. My room is like a little grotto already haha.

Fave song: So far it’s alright- the 1975. It’s probably not a shock to anyone, I’m seriously just in love with this band, I managed to sell fifteen of their cd’s in the space of three weeks just telling people how good they are haha. I have been listening to this song every night going home from work, it’s just so calming and chilled I laav it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IKQox1ztjKA#
So they were my Friday favourites, what are yours?
Au revoir until next time

                                       Four Friday Favourites

Aloha and happy first Friday of December to you! I am so happy it’s finally December, it has to be my favourite month of all time. There’s nothing I love more than the cold cosy nights in, festive nights out, hot drinks, chocolate, cosy things and most importantly Christmas day itself. I have nearly all of my Christmas presents already, I can’t really believe it haha. I have about five more things to get and then I’m done. I also only have two assignments to go and then I’m finished, yay!

Fave quote

Attract what you expect,
Reflect what you desire,
Become what you respect,
Mirror what you admire.

I am not sure who wrote this quote but I love whoever did! I like that it's short and sweet, but a very effective and positive message.

Fave song: John Newman: Losing sleep. I alore this song I’m loving John Newman a serious amount this week. I've been overplaying this song a ridiculous amount. His voice is so unique, and his new album tribute is worth the listen.

Fave laugh: Hard Out here Lilly Allen official video.

I am obsessed with the song and I am so glad Lilly Allen is back! Lilly Allen has never been afraid to speak her mind and it’s really shown in this video and song. I couldn’t stop laughing from the start right until the end. She is basically slagging the majority of rappers and their videos at the moment and she is doing a pretty good job at it. Between the balloons, the dancers and her classy dance moves it’s hilarious. She is completely right in what she is saying in the song, there is still a pretty big double standard when it comes to men and women.

Fave photo:

If this was wine instead of beer it would be perfect, I still love it anyway! If i had a bar this would definatey be sign on the door.

Au revoir until next time

Fashion and Beauty: 2013 November Favourites

                                         November Favourites.

Alohaaaa! I can’t believe it is the end of November this has been the quickest month by far. November has been one of my favourite months because some good things started to happen, just when I needed it. I got a Christmas job and a mentor which are both really exciting! I'm hoping December is kind as I have a lot of assignments coming up, and a lot of hours in work but, it will be all worth it in the end :)

Face: L'oreal true match. This is my all-time favourite high street foundation for so many reasons. It has amazing coverage, a great colour selection, as well as immense staying power. Most importantly it gives that flawless look which I love! I plan on doing a review on the foundation in the next coming weeks, going into more detail so stay tuned!

Skin care: Olay intense treatment eye cream. I’m so happy I have my eye cream back, which may seem sad to some of you but it's true haha. I really do believe that eye cream makes so much of a difference, under my eyes anyway! It weakness the appearance of dark circles and makes under your eyes so soft. This eye cream is a staple in my skin care routine and I notice straight away when I don't use it.

Body: Nivea in body shower conditioner. Ok no joking aside I don’t know how I lived without this product..it’s the best invention ever! I moisturise daily and it can get tedious, having to make your body cold after a lovely shower and then wait for it to dry. You apply this after you have washed with shower gel and gone are the days of after shower moisturising!

Fashion: R.I. Mid Wash Amelie Super Skinny Jeans

I am not a lover of jeans but I adored a pair for four years, until they died at the start of the month! They were gorgeous dark blue supper skinny jeans from River Island. The jeans were the only ones I bought that fit me perfectly and hugged me in all the right places. It wasn’t until they broke that I realised how much I needed another pair. It took me a week before I went on the hunt for a new pair. I looked around in various shops but I was drawn back to River Island. I knew the minute I tried them on, that they were the ones. I had four options and I didn’t even try on the other three, I went and bought them straight away. They are the Amelie supper skinny jeans by River Island, like my previous jeans they fit me perfectly, they are so comfy yet look tight just like a skinny jean should. I adore them and can’t stop wearing them!

Perfume: Vera Wang Love Struck-Floral Rush.

I picked this baby up in boots on offer at the start of the month and oh wow I’m so glad. I had eyed the perfume up since its launch months ago and I’m so happy I have it!  I'm bad at describing perfumes but it is the most gorgeous fresh sent, which I usually never go for. I keep over spraying it because I like it that much. I think I’m going to buy the giant bottle of it while I still have money coming in!

So they were my November favourites! Happy December to you & au revoir until next time!
