July and August favourite 2013
As you can see from the title my July and August
favourites are combined into one post, this is because I was mega busy in both July
and August so apologies if this post is too long for some of you! Next month
will be September favourites alone! Regardless of the length I hope you enjoy
it anyway! J
Eyes:
Under €10
Rimmel
kohl pencil in 011 Sable.
The past two months I’ve been really loving Smokey eye
shadow and experimenting more with eye makeup. I invested in my first brown eye
liner and I have to say, I’m going to find it very hard to go back to black! I
just love how it blends and makes even the most dramatic eye makeup look less
harsh whereas if it was black this would be less achievable. I’m seriously
obsessed with brown Smokey eyes and they become my signature going out look
thanks to this eyeliner. I love it so much!
L’Oreal
telescopic under €20.
Lip
Product: Under
€10. Rimmel Apocalypse
lip lacquer in Nude eclipse.
I adore this product, I have been seriously devoted to it
over the past two months! I love it best over my Revlon 245 Smokey rose. I’ve
spoke about this lipstick in previous blog posts if you want to check it out! It
is the perfect colour teamed with a Smokey eye, I am seriously in love with it!
Hair
care: under €20
The Tangle tamer
I have this ages but it needs to be spoken about, even
though I’m extremely late in the blogging world! I’m not going to lie, I do not
know how I ever lived without this product? My hair gets extremely knotty all
the time from doing nothing at all but since I got a tangle tamer it is my
saviour!
Hair Mask: under €10.
L’Oreal ever riche intensive hair treatment.
When I came home from my
holidays, my hair was really dried out from the sun so I was craving a good
hair mask or treatment. I went into boots almost straight away when I got home
and went on the hunt and found this gem! I had heard people talking about the
ever riche line from L’Oreal so, I decided to give it a go and I’m so glad I
did. This is a great treatment it makes your hair feel super moisturised and
like silk to touch!
Nails:
under €10. Bourjois turquoise block.
I was looking for a stand out summer shade especially for
my holiday and at the start of July I found this beauty! It is from the 6
second dry collection from Bourjois and it is the fastest drying nail varnish
I’ve had so far. This is perfect for me because I’m extremely impatient! As
well as being quick and easy to apply the colour is so pigmented even with just
one coat. I got a lot of compliments on the colour and I’ll be looking for a
darker shade from this collection for autumn winter!
Clothing: H and M kimono €20.
I’m extremely happy to say I have found my perfect summer
piece! This is probably one of my favourite summer thing that I have ever
owned. I over wore this on my holiday dressing it up and down. My favourite way
to wear it was with a band t-shirt with denim shorts and black sandals! I’m too
afraid to wear it at home in case anyone stands on it and rips it by accident
so I’ll be putting it away until my next summer holiday!
Shoes: Blue vans €45.
How did I live without vans is a mystery to me they are
probably the comfiest runners I have ever had and I think for how much they
were they are worth every penny. I have already got my money’s worth out of
them, they are just great and I will be buying another pair!
Scent: Gucci premiere €108.
Since I said goodbye to my bronze goddess I have fallen
back in love with my beloved Gucci. This is a gorgeous perfume and one of my
favourites it’s up there with my number one perfume which is Gucci Guilty. I
think Gucci Premier is not as strong as Gucci Guilty so it is easier to wear in
the day if you don’t want to strong of a perfume.
Jewellery: Pendant ring €5.
I bought this
ring in a great market in Costa Tequise. I love the colours and
the size of the ring, it goes with just about everything and it was so
affordable. In my eyes I can never go wrong with a costume ring!
Entertainment:
Show:
TOWIE- The Only Way Is Essex
It’s safe to say that I am actually in love with TOWIE.
For those of you who do not know what the show is, it is a reality show based
in Essex in the UK. The show resolves around a group of twenty something’s with
their careers, daily dramas and lifestyles. Beware, it is extremely addictive!
I love the accent the drama and the people in the show, it’s highly
entertaining and I’m so glad I started watching it! I like the majority of the
people in it and I can’t wait until it starts back again.
Singer:
Lana
del ray.
While I was on holiday I forgot my book so I was left
with my iPod being my only source of entertainment when I was trying to sleep
or chilling by the pool. I found myself overplaying Lana Del Ray, my favourite
songs by her are young and beautiful, national anthem, Paris and summer time
sadness, I like her quirkiness and the way her vocals can change depending the
type of song she sings.
Rapper:
Hoodie
Allen.
I also played Hoodie Allen to death. I just think he is
so smart and talented, I really want to go and see him when he plays here in
September sadly none of my friends know who he is and I’m not going to go alone
ha ha. My favourite songs by him are no faith in Brooklyn, #whitegirlproblems,
sticks and stones, and soul on fire. Check him out!
Longitude
Festival:
In the month of July I went to an Irish festival called
Longitude and it was AMAZING. I basically went to see Kodaline which are my
favourite Irish band because I missed out on their own gig tickets. So my best
friend and I went to the longitude festival for a fun day out and to see them!
The Maccabees, Vampire weekend and Villagers also played the day I went and
they were all great too! Kodaline made the day for me though, they were so good
live and played all of my favourite songs! The atmosphere was crazy when they
came on, they were really happy, energetic and overwhelmed by the crowd it was
so great! The best song was all I want, they were the most passionate about it
and the crowed went mad for it when the music started. I loved it and I really
hope I see them again soon!
Place:
Tequise
Lanzarote
I spent ten days in Lanzarote in the town of Tequise on a
huge family holiday. It was like a paradise, the water was so clear, the heat
was perfect because of the breeze and all of the restaurants were delicious. It
was the perfect holiday break and just what I needed. The town was very family
orientated but I didn’t expect a crazy holiday because I was away with my
family. I would love to go back again for a sunny break!
So they were my July and August favourites hope you liked
them!
Au revoir for now! xo
