September favourites; 21st birthday, party, makeup, fashion, lifestyle.

                                                                      My 21st birthday.

September was the quickest month in all honestly I don’t know where it has gone! It was a roller-coaster of month for me, where I had to make some major decisions and I can honestly say I am happy with the outcome. September kicks off my favourite months of the year, as I am an autumnal baby and a lover of all things winter! I’ve vamped my wardrobe and my final things to buy will be my perfect winter coats. My September favourites are all from my 21st Birthday Party weekend, I had that birthday bliss for four days and it was amazing, filled of so much fun laughter and love. My 21st was an event I didn’t even want to mark but I am so happy I did. I am surrounded by the most loyal and loving family and friends, they know who they are and I am so thankful to them all for making my birthday weekend, one I will never forget. <3

I turned 21 on Tuesday the 16th of September 2014 but had my birthday celebrations on Saturday the 13th of September. Myself not being a lover of parties well the ones I host myself, I wanted an intimate gathering of close family and friends. Instead of a function room I opted for a more laid back pre-drink style of a house party, then headed out to a club in the city centre after midnight to finish the night out. I still can’t believe the house party; I wasn’t expecting anything major but my mam really did go to such an effort and really did outdo herself. My house was turned into a mini wonderland full of all things sweet, pink and sparkly. Glowing candles lit the back garden like a magical hue surrounded by sparkly lanterns and garden ornaments paving the way to a handmade photo booth, and a giant birthday banner near the tables and seats. The house was filled with pink balloons, and banners as well as a projector spanning my life from the very beginning up to present day on the sitting room wall and so much more! My mam incorporated little things from some of my favourite films and favourite things and so that everywhere I turned there was something I loved which was so thoughtful and personal. There was an array of foods from sweet to savoury but the thing that caught the most attention was the birthday cake. I honestly don’t know where to start because the picture does not do it justice! This big beautiful cake was filled with chocolate sponge and a rocky road type of filling that was not cut into until the 16th. 21 chocolate sponge cupcakes  also surrounded the cake, sadly they had all disappeared before the picture was taken! I had such a great night being surrounded by my family and friends, it was all I wanted and wouldn’t change a thing.

The makeup;

As I am a lover of lists, I had a high end beauty list in the making for several months, thinking I would be purchasing a gift or two for my birthday, a Christmas present to myself and then little treats here and there. However, to my surprise my mam and little sisters bought me the content on my wish list! They also gifted me with birthday outfit which I adored and other personal things which I won’t disclose. The makeup I was gifted and featured in the picture above is the Dolce Vita pallet by Charlotte Tilbury (my new obsession) makeupforever matte velvet foundation, YSL shocking mascara, urban decay buck eye shadow, MAC viva glam 2 and MAC paint pot in groundwork. All of the products are so amazing, I incorporated them all into the makeup I wore on the night of my birthday!

The outfit accessories and hair;

I loved my birthday outfit, I had never been so stressed for an outfit in my life but it was all worth it in the end. I wore a textured silver crop top and a H&M black pencil skirt with mesh bands at the end. The outfit was so figure hugging yet flattering at the same time and it was so comfy I adored it. The heels are my beloved black office heels that I wear to death they are the ultimate dancing heel as you can go on forever and they are so easy to walk in! My lovely best friend Tara also curled my hair for the night which was a nice change instead of my usual go to straightened hair. I also wore a pink sparkly princess crown because you only turn 21 once right? For jewellery I opted for a mix and match of gold, rose gold and silver jewellery like the rebel that I am and a black clutch for a bag.

The actual birthday day; Tuesday the 16th of September 2014.

I spent the day relaxing with family and friends and for the evening my little sister brought me to my favourite restaurant for a meal which was so lovely! We had planned to go to the cinema after however, we were both exhausted so instead we went home and watched a film with wine and twirl bites which was perfect. If I’m being honest I don’t think I felt normal until the following Saturday a whole week after my party!

So that was a look inside my 21st birthday and my September favourite! What was yours?

Au revoir until next time
