Clarins Pure Melt Cleansing Gel review; Skincare and Beauty.

                                      Talk about it Tuesday; Clarins pure melt cleansing gel review.

I have recently mentioned this product in my latest May favourites and I think it deserves a further review because I would be lost without it! During the weekend Tara came over to stay and we had a lovely little sleepover/mini pamper session. After hearing me going on about all of these products for months now she was able to test some out for herself! The product I was most excited to show her was the Clarins pure melt cleansing gel or as I like to call it my skincare saviour! Just like me Tara was amazed at the result and how easy it is to use and still produces brilliant results. This cleansing gel is balmy in texture and breaks down into an oil when it comes into contact with the face. When water is added to remove the product, the oil turns almost into a milk which further soothes the skin. To remove the product I use a face cloth in hot water which takes off all of the product without any residue. This pure melt cleansing gel has been my skin saviour on some of my worst days, it doesn’t break my skin out, and it is the only thing I can use when my skin is sore or going through a bad break out. The product removes all of my makeup, whether it be a simple everyday makeup or a makeup for a night out which would be a full blown Smokey eye or long lasting lipstick without any fuss. I enjoy taking my makeup off because it is such an easy thing to do thanks to this cleansing gel! The product feels luxurious on the skin and is a mini pamper in itself. The Clarins pure melt cleansing gel retails at 23 euro which is a great price for such an amazing product! My skin type is sensitive/combination to oily with an additional hormonal breakout and the Clarins gel adds no irritation to my sensitive skin and reduces the redness from break outs. If you think this product could be for you, or if you are just interested I would seriously check it out!

Au revoir until next time!

Friday Favourites; Lifestyle, Music, Quote.

                                                                                 T.G.I.F.

Aloha and welcome back to five Friday favourites it’s been way too long since I’ve wrote a Friday favourites and I’m looking forward to making them a regular thing once again. This week was my first week of finally not being sick and I am so happy! I spent the week catching up with friends and doing bits and pieces which was really nice. I went to see the fault in our stars yesterday with Tara and left the cinema heartbroken. It’s a good movie but all the loveliness in some scenes is nearly numbed by the sadness in the film overall. The fault in our stars is a film I know I won’t be watching again anytime soon! I’m currently letting my nails dry pre getting ready for one of my best friends Katie’s going away drinks tonight. Katie is off to conquer Australia for a year and I will miss her so much! However, thanks to the internet we have skype and social media so she will still be here in spirit! As well as my weekly blog posts to keep her up to date ha-ha :)

Fave quote;

This quote is so true, spend time with your friends and family, appreciate your achievements, and live in the now.
Fave song; Coasts Ocean.

This song is a true summer anthem, easy to listen to whatever you’re feeling. The lead singer’s voice is quite different and the song has a good beat I can imagine dancing to mid festival.

Fave band; My favourite band at the moment WJAX originally known as whiskey jax. I am overplaying their soundcloud and annoying everyone in my house. WJAX is an electronic indie band from the UK. You can find their music on their website linked here below.

I found the band through Katie Snooks lookbook video linked here;

The band’s music is easy to get lost in, the mix of pop/indie electronic music with good solid lyrics have a really good combination. The lead singer’s voice puts soul and life into the music which makes for an extremely good listen. I would love to see them live from watching the no stop video as it looks like a really good gig! This song is probably my favourite, it is so upbeat and easy to listen to whatever mood you are in, check them out!

Fave clothing item; Silk shorts from Bershka.

Words can’t describe how happy I am since I bought these shorts the other week they are so perfect I have been looking for the perfect black silk shorts for months and I have finally found them! I don’t have a picture of these beauts because they are in the wash! However I have a feeling they will be in a monthly favourites to watch this space.

Fave picture;

Living for the festival vibes.

Au revoir for now!

Hair care saviour; masque for dry, damaged or dyed hair

 Charles Worthington strength and repair longer and stronger hair masque review.

The strength and repair longer and stronger hair masque is my holy grail hair item, it leaves the most gorgeous effect on the hair, It does not make your hair heavy or greasy, it does exactly what it says on the tin! My hair is one of my favourite assets and always has been. I have been putting blonde highlights in my hair around every three months for a few years now, they range from a full head, to half head, to full head again. I have been every shade of blonde you could probably imagine but the colour I love the most is a dirty caramel blonde. This is because I love the mix of brown and blonde in my hair, it is so much easier to maintain and looks more chic in my opinion! Strangely enough I rather like the look of my roots because they are not that easily spotted in my mixed mesh head haha. I am quite good when it comes to keeping my hair in good condition, only using heat on my hair if I am going out somewhere nice, on a night out or some other special occasion. So on a day to day basis I let my hair air dry. There is more than likely a hair masque, hair oil or some other treatment in my hair to keep it protected. My masque of choice for the past few months is my Charles Worthington hair masque. I wash my hair every 2 to 3 days and most of the time I will use this masque as a conditioner, for that extra boost of nourishment and to help the hair feel, and look softer. If I do not use this masque my hair will not be as soft and silk like, and I honestly notice the difference and miss this feeling.  I found this masque after one of FleurDeForce’s main channel videos, which may have been a monthly favourites. I couldn’t find the orange masque she talked about in her video so I opted for this purple one. I actually tried out the orange one about a month ago and disliked it as the masque did nothing for my hair. Thankfully I bought it on my boots card so technically it’s not money gone down the drain, I also gave it to my mam so winners all around! My hair dresser also commented on the growth and good condition of my hair the last time I was getting my hair done, which could be down to this! If I didn’t win you over on my May favourites with this product I hope this review has. It is a must for dry, damaged, and or coloured hair!

 What is your holy grail hair item ?

Au revoir until next time!

May Favourites; Skincare, Beauty and Fashion.

                                                                 May Favourites

Aloha and happy first of June to you! My blog had its first birthday on the 30th of May, which is crazy to me I can't believe I have been writing it for a year! I originally planned to have this post uploaded on Friday but I am really sick at the moment and couldn’t get into the blogger frame of mind! Apologies for the lack of content, I had the busiest May with regards to essays assignments and exams leaving my blog to fall behind. However, I am now free until September and I will be uploading like normal weekly and maybe even twice a week... I’m excited to see what summer holds, I have high hopes that it will be one to remember. This summer will be one of my last care free summers, I’m the youngest I’m ever going to be at the moment and I want to have as much fun as possible. Enough of my rambling and on to the fun stuff!

Beauty;

Skincare; La Roche Posay Toleriane

My skin had an unholy break out during May and it was horrible. The stress of all of the work that needed to be done and lack of sleep did no good for my skin. However, one thing that continued to make it better was the La Roche Posay Toleriane. I have sensitive combination to oily skin with hormonal acne. Which is a mouthful I know, but I’m learning to live with it ha-ha. The Toleriane moisturiser which is suited for sensitive skin actually calmed my skin down better than the Effaclar range. It is calming and soothing while it disappears into the skin almost as if nothing is on it.

Clarins; pure melt cleansing gel.

The clarins pure melt cleansing gel is hands down is my Holy Grail skincare item. Over the last year I have tried and tested so many makeup removers, cleansers, balm cleansers, oil cleansers, foams and gels the list goes on, you name it I’ve used it. And nothing has worked better than the Clarins cleansing gel melt. This is the only cleanser that has removed all of my makeup without residue and most importantly not broken my skin out, or broke the bank purchasing it! The gel breaks down into an oil and your makeup is completely removed in two minutes, eye makeup and everything. I honestly don’t know how I lived without it?

Clarins lotus oil.

This is radiant and plump skin in a bottle. I had never used a facial oil before but after using this I am sold as it is unlike anything I have ever used before. The oil isn’t heavy or greasy on the skin, it seeps into the skin overnight, which leaves your face it lovely and plump in the morning. There is no trace of the oil or any form of residue in the morning which is amazing.

Makeup;

Nars Copacabana

This is a liquid highlighter from Nars which is guaranteed beautiful dewy skin in a tube. Whenever I wear this under my makeup I am always complimented on how nice and how luminous my skin looks. A little goes a long way and this liquid highlighter can be used in so many ways. The product glows but it is not glittery, it looks natural and healthy on the skin I adore it.

Lips;
Pink pong Bourjois

I was very sceptical about these rouge velvet lip stains when I first seen them but after buying pink pong I have fallen in love. I first purchased Frambourjoise which seemed like a cool toned red but it was actually too orange for my liking. My skin is only suited to blue undertones this may be why I hate peach and orange lipstick with a passion, it just looks horrible on me! However, Pink pong is amazing. The colour lasts all day, it doesn’t run and it doesn’t dry out your lips. The colour is extremely opaque even with just one coat and for around ten euro you really can’t go wrong!

Nails; Dior

Dior nail varnish are my favourite their staying power is amazing and their colour payoff is phenomenal. My favourite of the moment is Dior Nuit 1947 which is the most perfect deep burgundy colour. I am obsessed with this colour and still haven’t found it in a lipstick form but when I do it will be Nuit 1947 shade. Look into Dior if you still haven’t found your high end nail varnish find!

False Tan;

Cocoa brown false tan by Marissa Carter.

I was hesitant about this tan when my little sister first told me about it I can't remember why but after I wore it on my latest night out I can't get enough of it. St Tropez is my all-time favourite fake tan and has been for years, between the colour pay off and staying power it is number one. When I wear St Tropez it is usually in a spray tan form because I am super lazy and a quick spray glow is all I need. Saying this it is very expensive and I don’t have the money to be spending 30 euro on tan every few weeks. It is around 30 euro for a bottle in boots which I’ve tried before but I hate handing over so much for tan. That’s where cocoa brown comes in, it is the perfect tan for a quick natural glow. The tan is also buildable but I am very pale so one to two coats suits me perfectly. It is so affordable coming in at around 7 euro in the majority of high street stores. When the body is exfoliated and moisturised correctly it will last to a maximum of five days and fade off nicely. It is safe to say that cocoa brown is going to be my summer saviour, unless I have a big event where St Tropez will come out to play.

Perfume;

Dolce by Dolce & Gabbana

This is my go to summer scent of the moment. The perfume is a very soft and feminine fragrance, full of florals with a slight musky undertone. It is light enough to wear everyday, during the day.

Fashion; clothing

H&M maxi cardigan with Zara leather jacket combo

And separate

The weather is still quite up in the air. It will look like a glorious day until I leave the house and it starts to rain. I have been over wearing my Zara leather jacket to death it is so perfect and I’m going to be loving it for a long while, as well as my H&M maxi cardigan. So much so that I went and bought it in black too. It is almost ankle length and so comfy. I love outerwear that is longer than normal so I almost always have a layering affect with my clothes so the combined look suits me just fine. This more relaxed vibe is not everyone’s cup of tea, but not everyone matters.

 Shoes; Topshop slip on shoes.

 I have had these since April I think and have worn them almost every day since. They were truly painful to break in but they were worth it in the end. Slip-on’s are so easy to wear and they look like vans so I don’t mind! Converse, vans and these type of shoes are the only flats I can wear. I hate pumps I just think they really are not flattering for the majority of people and I dislike a lot of sandals because feet freak me out ha-ha.

So that’s a wrap on today’s post, hope you enjoyed and stay tuned for more!

 Au revoir for now!
