                                                       Five Friday Favourites.

Aloha and happy Friday to you! I felt like this week would never end! After getting some sad news over the weekend and then being really stressed and worried over exams I just thought it would never end! However, it has and I am very happy about it! I have no plans except, working until I return back to college on the 10th woohoo. I plan to blog, read and shop till I drop I can’t wait. I just want a fresh new start to the month and there’s never an excuse really to buy new clothes. I need to move away from my all black everything and pop a little more colour into my spring wardrobe. I brought a little bit of colour into it yesterday so at least I'm getting there!

Fave quote:

This is from one of my most favourite songs called Keep Your Head Up by Ben Howard. It’s such a lovely song that just reminds you that things will get better if you just keep going.

Fave thing: John Newman Tribute Concert.
The John Newman concert 25.1.14. It was almost a week ago but I haven’t stopped thinking about it, this gig was simply amazing. He played the academy in Dublin and it was amazing. The gig was along the lines of being intimate as the academy isn’t really big so we were so close to him! The atmosphere was electric. John was in such a good mood, constantly smiling and laughing. He really seemed to be having the time of his life which was great to see because it made the audience love it even more. He was so slick with his dance moves, most importantly his voice was phenomenal. John Newman honestly sounds better live than he does on his CD and that’s really saying something. I didn’t want the night to end at all, I’d go and see him again in a heartbeat. I don’t go to enough concerts I use to go to loads all the time but then I stopped. I want to start again!

Fave laugh:

I hope you laughed too!

Fave Song: Save tonight – Timeflies

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EnbemIr9FOI

This week I have been overplaying a song called Save Tonight by Timeflies. Timeflies is an American rapper/singer who reminds me of my beloved Hoodie Allen. His songs are upbeat and catchy so check him out if you think you would like him!

Fave picture: from https://www.facebook.com/Bardia.Architecture

How cool is this? I found it on a Facebook page called art and architecture. It’s a really cool Facebook page with artists work and I just think this piece so creative!

What are your favourites this week?

Au revoir until next time!

T.G.I.F. Lifestyle

                                                   Five Friday favourites.

Alohaaa and happy Friday to you! This week has been pretty boring if I’m being honest all I’ve done is sleep and attempt to study. This time next week I will have my exams out of the way and I will hopefully have some more exciting things to fill you in on!

Fave quote:

Caring about what people think is something that holds me back and I’m sure it may be the same for you too. I don’t know why we care so much about what people think of us, just like the quote says it is your life, we should be brave to make it exactly the way we want to be. Not caring about what others think is something I want to achieve in 2014, because I think I’d push myself a bit harder if I cared less about what people thought of me.

Fave song: Take me to church by Hozier.

After hearing the name Hozier floating around the past month and my subconscious mind forgetting to look him up every time I went home… my sister is the reason I actually found him and gave him a listen. She came in with the whole “I found a song you’re going to love listen quick!” and she was right. I have been playing this song to death, obsessed doesn’t even cover it. I think the message in the song is very clear and a brilliant way to showcase some problems in the world at the moment. He is my favourite type of singer, give him a listen!

Fave laugh:
I love gifs, they can be brilliant when they don’t take a million years to load! I found this gif on the college times. I think it represents the majority of us before we leave the house to go on a night out, or somewhere fancy and we feel fab. Work it woody!

Fave thing this week: Ranting with Tara.
I want to start taking record of some of the things we talk about during our three hour phone calls, because they are hilarious. We talk about everything and anything. Some conversations start sad then we become to happy, to jealousy, to happy again, to anger, to laughing. But what always stays the same is the end of the conversation no matter how they start we always end up hopeful. The other day I was telling her about a friend who is living through Tara and myself's biggest fear.. they have given up on actually loving their life, they have no places they want to go or things they want to do they just have a job and that's it now.  I was telling her and the both of us said it’s the saddest thing and we will never do it. After that Tara asked me, "are we the ones missing out on real life because we won’t settle and we always hope for the best and exciting things for our future?" I replied saying no and looking back on the conversation I still think it’s a no. I like the fact that no matter what we go through, be it shitty jobs, shitty boys or shitty days we are always hopeful that it will get better. I think I would be a much sadder person if I thought only the bad in people and things. I just don't understand why so many people settling and giving lately. we are still so young and so many of us have no dreams or hopes for their futures. What has happened to the fun, adventurous youth?

Fave Picture:

This would be perfect right now. *sigh*

Au revoir until next time!

                                                           Five Friday Favourites.

Alohaaa and happy Friday to you! This week has flown in all I’ve done is sleep, work and study but it’s been fine! I’m spending my Friday shopping with my mam I can’t wait! Hope you enjoy todays post and have a fab Friday :)

Fave quote:

I rememberd this song during the week and it’s not technically a quote it’s a lyric..but it is nostalgic to me so shhh haha. The lyric is from a you me at six song called liquid confidence. I overplayed this song for years, and I still love it. I think almost everyone has fallen or will fall for someone they shouldn’t. Even though you’ve heard the stories and you have been warned you don’t listen, you just have to learn for yourself!

Fave laugh- Mr Culchie

There are no words. It so funny, I can actually imagine people from the country saying things like this!

Fave song- I’ll be there for you Ronan Scolard cover.

This is a brilliant cover of the song I’ve never heard anything like it. The cover went viral this week and I love it so much.

Fave show:
American horror story: The coven
I heard great things about the American horror story shows but I’ve been too much of a scardy cat to watch them. However, I hit the wall after assignments and study and decided to give it a go. I’m so glad I did because I have been loving this show all week!

Motivation on a Monday: Makeup/Beauty

Mac Studio Fix Fluid NC15 review.

Alohaaa and welcome to motivation on a Monday! I haven’t decided if I’m going to draft a post on a Monday and upload it at night like today. Or if I want to draft it on a Sunday and upload it on a Monday morning. Today is an night post, as I had a glorious day of waking up late and just sorting out bits and pieces. Moving on todays post is my awaited review on my all-time favourite foundation. As a shopper I am a high street queen and hate spending more than thirty euro on a single makeup product. BUT this foundation is worth every penny. If you have combination to oily skin keep reading because this could be the foundation for you!

I got into this foundation around this time last year. I was looking for a good long lasting full cover foundation, after a lot of research I decided to go for the MAC studio fix fluid. I chose this one as it is best suited for people with combination to oily skin. I told the girl I wanted a shade close to my skin colour, but not too pale. I had three shade choices, and I chose NC 15. I picked NC 15 because I liked the shade best on my skin, it gave me a healthy natural colour. It isn’t too dark or too pale, it’s just right for me. The foundation is 35.00 which is quite expensive but believe me it is worth it. I only wear the foundation when I’m going somewhere nice or out on a night out with my friends. This is because if I used it every day I would simply not be able to afford it! Boo hoo hopefully this will change when I’m no longer a student…well hopefully haha. The coverage in this foundation is medium to heavy coverage, it is not so heavy that it cakes but it is buildable. The thing I probably love most about this foundation is the fact it lasts all night long. It stays in place and hardly fades after a night of boozing and bopping around!

If you think this foundation could be the one for you go ahead and get it, you won’t regret it!

Au revior until next time

                                                                 Five Friday Favourites.

Aloha and happy Friday to you!

I hope January is treating you well so far. I am very happy because I handed my final assignment in yesterday halleluiah! I have a group report and one exam to go which is not too bad. I have been off work all week and I’d be lying if I said I didn’t enjoy it. Despite being very stressed and anxious over doing my essay, I got a lovely amount of sleep haha. I had a lie on pretty much every day this week which was amazing! I am spending my Friday doing some bits with my mam in the morning and then spending the rest of the day in town shopping and going for dinner with my friend Katie. I can’t wait for some chats and serious retail therapy. I have my list in my bag and I’m ready to go!

Fave quote:

This is a simple quote but so true. People you are around bring out certain things in you. Its best to try and surround yourself with the people that will bring out your better side that make you laugh, smile and make you feel good. Leave the toxic people that take from you, knock you down and make you feel bad about yourself, they are not worth a second of your time.

Fave picture:

I want to go away so so SO bad. Someone take me to a sunny place where I can do nothing all day except drink cocktails? A bourbon sour preferably.

Fave song:

Mama spice girls.

This is a complete throw back to the 90s. The reason I have been loving it this week is because my mam and I were watching a documentary on the making of the viva forever show during the week and all of the classic songs were played throughout it. It was a really nice documentary showing how the spice girls transformed and the lovely lyrics behind the pop songs. Not everyone loves the spice girls but I did and still do. Some of my favourite childhood memories have been captured on video camera of me pretending I was posh spice, strutting around the house as if I was on stage with my little sister trailing behind me haha. Mama is one of me and my mam’s first songs and will always have a special place in my heart.

Fave laugh

Smile, you know you want too!

Au revoir until next time

S.O.S. Silly On Saturday.

A day late is better than never.

Aloha and happy first Friday of the year to you!... That’s what I intended to say yesterday but it wasn’t until late last night that I realised it was actually Friday so I am a day behind! My mind is scrambled, I have been doing an essay work for two days straight and I’ve been so busy I actually forgot what day it was haha. So even though I missed my usual Friday slot I still want to do my favourites, because I was really looking forward to them. Can you believe its 2014?! I’m so excited to see what happens this year I have a nice feeling about it.

Fave quote:

This is lovely, I like the whole idea of you are what you think, and what you think you become. It makes a lot of sense, if you dwell and always think of sad things you will then be sad. If you are happy and think of things that make you smile, you will become happier.
Fave song:

Avicii Hey Brother Cover By Laura Zocca
This is such an easy listen. I love both the original song and this cover version. Laura Zocca could sing any song and I’d more than likely love it. My favourite lyric is do you still believe in love I wonder as I found myself asking that very question the other day.

Fave photo:

This photo was taken from space on New Year’s Eve. How gorgeous is it? I spent New Year’s with my family and I’m so glad I did, it was my first time being at home for new years in around four years and I really enjoyed it.

Fave day..kind of. 2/1/14
I was having a really shitty day on Thursday. I was stressed and worried about my essay. My eight hour shift in work felt like eighty and all I wanted to do was go home. I had rude customers in work, I missed a bus and I was drenched in the rain. I hadn’t told any of my family I was having a bad day and I came home to my favourite dinner and some little gifts from my mam and my day turned around completely. It was just the surprise I needed. I don’t say it enough but I really do have such a loving and caring family and I’d be lost without them.

Fave Film:
About Time. I had been waiting to see this film for months and I finally watched it. I love cheesy romantic films, it was everything I expected and more. if you wanted to see it please watch it, It is just so lovely!

Au revoir until next time,
