May Favourites 2013

                      May favourites

Beauty.
Face:

L'Oreal - Magic Lumi - Light Infusing Primer. (under 15euro)

The first makeup product I’ve been loving this month is the L’Oreal- Magic Lumi- Light Infusing Primer. I’ve been looking for a good primer for a while and when I ventured into boots during a three for two on makeup, I picked this one up as it was basically for free and matched the foundation I was buying. I can honestly notice a huge difference when I have this primer on under my foundation, it reduces redness and leaves a nice even base for my foundation to go over. It also makes my makeup last much longer, I find myself not having to re-apply as much which is a huge bonus because I can be very lazy and forgetful!

Lips: (9 euro)
Revlon super lustrous lipstick pearl, 245 in Smoky Rose.

This has been my go to lip colour for a natural everyday look as well as a going out look this month. It is perfect teamed with a Smokey eye so the lip is natural and all emphasis is on the eye makeup. It also looks great with a neutral eye with a natural everyday makeup, to give the “my lip but better” effect. I will definitely be repurchasing it once I’ve run out!

Nails: (under 7 euro)
Barry M Hi Shine Gelly Nail Paint in Blueberry 311.

I purchased it when it came first and I thought I would never wear it because some blue nail varnish can make me look extremely pale and is not very attractive at all. However, I am obsessed with this colour it looks great against my natural skin as well as tanned skin. Whenever I wear the nail varnish I get compliments on the colour because the pigment is so strong. Another thing I love is that lasts longer than others in my collection. I think it is just amazing hence why I have already re purchased it!

Perfume .
Estée Lauder - Bronze Goddess -Eau Fraiche Skin scent. (65 euro)

I was recently on the hunt for a nice summer scent, last year I was loving Via La Juicy and went back to look at it again at the start of the month but I wasn’t really feeling it. While I was in Debenhams trying out different perfumes I seen there was a 10% off on the Estée Lauder bronze goddess and when I went to test it I fell in love. It is nothing like a perfume I have owned before and is almost the opposite to my number one perfume, Gucci Guilty. It smells like coconut and almost citrusy. It is amazing I’ve worn it so much since I bought it and it is basically full.

Fashion:

Clothing.
Topshop t-shirt (30 euro)
My favourite item of clothing this month is my oversized 86 baggy t-shirt from Topshop. Yes it is everywhere but I still adore it. I have worn it so much and keep finding new ways to change it up whether it’s wearing it as a dress with heels or casual with jeans flats. It is so versatile and so comfy!

Accessories:

Pennys Black Tote. (13 euro)

My go to accessory is my black faux leather tote from Pennys or Primark. It is huge and can hold so much, it’s the perfect shopper’s bag. I was able to fit my laptop, note pad and makeup bag in it while I was in college. It has two straps that you can hold it on the cuff of your arm or high on your shoulder. There is also a large strap that you can hang from your shoulder. Another thing I love about it is that it looks more expensive than it is. You can never go wrong with a nice cheap bag! The bag is good quality and affordable which is a perfect combination in my opinion.

Jewellery.

Black Heart Pendant:

I have been wearing my black stone heart pendant almost every day. I received it as a gift for my 16th birthday. The pendant hangs on a velvet mid-neck chain, with a sterling silver rose on the pendant, this little rose is so cute and dainty and adds a delicate look to the piece. As it was a gift I don’t know how much it was. It is the perfect statement necklace to wear against any colour or casual outfit and it will smarten the look up.

Bracelet.

My pick of the month is my London Links bracelet that I received as a present for my 18th birthday. I wear it every day whether I’m in work, going out or just lounging around. It’s simple and stylish and goes with everything. As it was a gift I don’t know how much the bracelet was.

Ring.

I have been wearing my silver leaf ring from Pennys (Primark) to death this month. It was a bargain at 3 euro once again it goes with everything and can be a nice statement ring on its own.

Entertainment.

TV Show:

I am obsessed with the TV show Nashville. it is centred around two country singers one Rayna James, a Nashville superstar in her early forties who has been queen of country music in Nashville for over twenty years and Juliet Barnes a global sensation in her early twenties who wants to be the new queen. This show and the hart of Dixie have given me a new found love for the south of America, Nashville and Alabama are definitely on my America road trip hit list!

Music:

I have been listening to the band Kodaline on repeat. High hopes and Pray are my two favourite songs, I honestly haven’t listened to a song that I do not like. They are an Irish band from Dublin which makes me love them that little bit more. I am going to a summer festival called Longitude basically for them as I wasn’t able to get tickets to their concert in November but the festival is in July which means I can see them sooner which is even better!

Youtuber:

Laura Zocca, I can’t go a day without listening to one of her covers or one of her own, my favourite is ghosts. She has such a lovely voice that is calming and makes every song her own, my favourite cover is her version of Lana Del Rays National Anthem, it is just so good.

Place:
Alfie's.

Alfie’s in the City Centre South Dublin, Alfie's is a restaurant downstairs and a bar upstairs. It is one of my favourite places to go to for a drink or two, to catch up with a friend or for pre drinks before heading to a club. The atmosphere is great and the cocktail prices are so affordable. My favourite cocktail is the apple blossom it is so delish and only comes in at 6 euro!
